Exciting Collaboration Solidified to Boost Student Growth and MHNPR Development!

Last Tuesday, October 3, a momentous meeting took place at the office of the esteemed Rector of the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez (RUM). The purpose? To forge a strong collaborative commitment that will have a profound impact on the growth of students, professionals, and the development of the Natural History Museum.

The gathering was graced by an impressive lineup of individuals who share a passion for this transformative endeavor. Among them was Maribel Ramirez Toledo, an accomplished entrepreneur and President of the MHNPR. Also in attendance were Dr. Agustín Rullán Toro, the esteemed Rector of the UPR, and Dr. Hernán Santos, a distinguished Dean, Professor of Geology, and esteemed member of the Board of the MHNPR. Joining them were Dr. Michael González Cruz, an esteemed Professor of Sociology and Secretary of the MHNPR, and Dr. Jorge Vélez Juarbe, an Associate Curator of Mammals at the Museum of History. The meeting was further enriched by the presence of Dr. Victor Huerfano, Director of the Seismic Network, and Dr. Fernando Gilbes, the esteemed Dean of Arts and Sciences.

This collaborative effort promises to be a game-changer, as it sets the stage for an exciting future of growth and development. The Letter of Intent, approved by the Rector of the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Campus, marks a significant milestone. It signals the beginning of the drafting process for the Memorandum of Understanding between the parties involved.
